The 6 Week Body Makeover by Michael Thurmond is an eating program that states that the user will be able to lose up to 30 pounds in six weeks. Like any prudent consumer, I performed research on this product before I purchased it.
One un-happy person that has done the program can make thousand other people not buy the program. All they have to do is post their negative opinion on a consumer review website and people will flock to the site, read the post, and ultimately be discouraged that the program doesn’t work. Note that in any program, you will always find people that can point out the imperfections. Some people are just born to complain.
I would like to give a fair review of the of the body makeover program as I am currently on this eating plan and have enough knowledge to give an un-biased review. I can say that my review is un-biased because I’m not trying to sell you anything. You will not see any affiliate links to a product within this article (this diet does not have an affiliate program). There is absolutely no benefit for me, except to share a rebuttal towards all of the negative complaints towards this program.
When one un-happy person writes that this product is a scam, it turns-off thousand customers from trying this product and potentially losing a lot of weight. Negative reviews are powerful ways to dissuade people from buying or trying any products or services. I’ve realized that in our society people are always going to find something to complain about, no matter how perfect or good a product or service is.
Many people who are unhappy with the program have actually stated that they lost A LOT of weight. They were just un-happy with the program because it was too restrictive to them. These people quit half way through the program and ended up gaining all the weight back. They claim that they lost mainly water weight due to the restricted sodium intake (salt and sodium is very restricted on this program). Yes, you will lose water weight; however, you are supposed to be drinking at least 100 oz. of water a day on this program so you can’t blame all of your weight loss on water weight loss due to retention.
Many people complain that the diet is too “restrictive” and that you will lose too much weight too soon. Other people complain that it’s “all too sudden” and that they need to “wean off” of junk food. I’ve learned that if you want something bad enough (in this case losing weight), you will fight and strive toward your goals. So, how bad do you want to lose weight? Are you willing to give up eating that bucket of fried chicken for a flatter stomach?
The most important question is: how bad do you want to lose weight? Losing weight is not fun and you will feel un-happy when you see your friends eating hamburgers and you are eating chicken. The great part is, they are getting fat and you are losing weight. You will feel amazing when you drop your first 10 pounds. After your first 10 pounds your metabolism has already been trained to burn fat at a rapid rate. Think of the long-term benefit of eating healthy and the day when you can put on that bikini or take off your shirt without feeling embarrassed. Remember, the 6 Week Body Makeover is not about fast results (although people have reported rapid weight loss), it’s about learning how to eat healthy so that you can stay thin for the rest of your life.
